Summer has landed
as bright as headlights,
the sky as wide
as a cat's yawn,
as blue as the
saddest soul.
Insects buzz and perch
on the yellow roses,
perch on the wildflowers,
and the spiky rosemary
in the busy gardens.
Summer had landed
winter is on the run,
the air is a soft sweet musk
sneaking into the dull homes
shooing the people outside
to picnic,to parade along
sunlit streets
charming everything in its wake.
Alas, on this longest day
the haze is luminous.

Until next time

Summer was here and it was hot but now she’s gone and it’s cold

I hope the sun comes back out for you, after all it is summer! Thanks for commenting!
Your words really took my senses away with them. Fantastic imagery.
I love this:
‘the sky as wide
as a cat’s yawn’.
