Master time, I entreat you
give me more time
to steady my breath, to calm the beating of my heart
as you weave your way between heaven and earth
give me the time to admire the bright yellow brilliance
of yet another sunrise
and later, gaze at the orange globe as it descends upon a cooling earth.
Oh master time, slow down your hurry
grant me more time to admire the big bold moon in all its mystery
for my head is spinning
as you rock my world a little bit more.
Bestow me with your favour, as my feet have not touched the ground.
Calm down your pace, shower me with more moments
before I disappear without leaving
the faintest trace – I implore you!

Dedicated to everyone who like me feels that time is flying by too quickly!

Hi David, thank you so much for your comment! So very kind and much appreciated! All the very best, Sharon
Your poem is lovely!
Thank you so much Melissa! So very good of you to stop by. All the very best, Sharon
I couldn’t agree more with the above sentiments. The ending lines are ineffable: ‘before I disappear without leaving the faintest trace – I implore you!’
Hi Matt, so happy you appreciated my poem. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your comment. With best wishes Sharon
It was so poignant Sharon. I hope you don’t mind if I include it for next Mondays’ ‘News on the March’ segment.
Hi Matt, that would be lovely! Very kind of you. But I have got one condition… send us some sunshine, it’s absolutely freezing in the UK right now!!! Chilly!!!
I’m afraid you are not going to get much sunshine from Bogota, Colombia. We just entered the wet season and the climate is horrible. When I do yoga again, I’ll sing the ‘Sunshine Song’ for you. Cheers.
Oh Matt, you are so funny! The ‘Sunshine Song’ sounds great, at least it’s something! I’m a Yoga lover also, interestingly! Wishing you well and I hope your rainy season doesn’t last too long! S
March through to June 😏 Thanks Sharon and I also hope the weather in London improves.
Thanks Matt!
Wonderful poetry 💐💕✨
Thank you so much! Thanks for stopping by and the comment! Sharon
